PARSE PARTNERS Turns 3

This past week we celebrated our 3rd birthday!

When I first started Parse Partners, I probably underestimated just how hard building a business can be - but perhaps a little optimism, naivete and belief is what helps you take the leap and keeps you going.

From the beginning, we made a deliberate decision to stay small and work with a limited number of clients at any one time. That remains an important part of how we work. It allows us to adapt quickly, provide direct access to senior expertise and, importantly, stay close to the commercial and operational realities of each business.

Some highlights from the past three years include:

• helping a global listed software business grow its operations across the APAC region;

• supporting international businesses entering and expanding into new markets across APAC

• advising technology, trading and financial markets businesses on regulatory strategy, licensing, new products and changing regulatory requirements;

• working with exchanges, market participants and industry bodies on market structure and regulatory developments across the region;

• supporting clients through the less glamorous but equally important day-to-day legal, regulatory and commercial issues that come with running and growing a business; and

• building a genuinely cross-border business from Brisbane, working with clients and colleagues across Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, China, the US and Europe.

There is still plenty more to do, but reaching three years feels like a good moment to look back at how far we’ve come.
